Chapter 2 Questions
Foreshadowing
1. I think that the ten little indian poem is a foreshadowing of what will happen to each guest in the house. I read a little bit farther and one of the people in the house died of choking on something and that is how one of the little indians died.
"Ten little Indian boys went out to dine, One choked his little self and then there were nine."
2."Queer business when you come to think of it-the whole thing was queer-very queer...." I think that this is a foreshadowing that something weird might happen throughout the week the group is at Indian Island.
3."No, she wouldn't remember.... She would not think of it! All that was over...." This is an example of foreshadowing because the opposite happened when they were eating dinner in the dining room. Mrs.Rogers played the record that accused everyone of a murder and obviously brought back horrible memories of the incident.
4. "That fellow Lombard now, he was a queer chap. Not straight. He'd swear the man wasn't straight." I think this is a foreshadowing that Lombard will do something or turn out to be someone very weird later in the book.

Some good insights in your answers.
Suspense is definitely a part of mystery novels.
Does the title really give you a clue that there is a group of people? I'm not sure I agree with that.
